About us

DNTOX offers animal experiment-free toxicological testing services with a focus on developmental and adult neurotoxicity. By combining human cell-based 2D/3D test systems with state-of-the-art machine learning technology, DNTOX provides a faster, more cost-effective and more human-relevant alternative to traditionally used rodent studies. Next to regulatory purposes, these cost- and time-effective tests can be implemented as routine screening during the development of new chemicals and pharmaceuticals. Our innovative services facilitate the development of chemicals that are safe and sustainable by design and thereby contribute to the protection of customer health and the EU Chemicals Strategy for Sustainability Towards a Toxic-Free Environment.

The DNTOX in vitro test system is comprised of a set of multicellular test methods that are based on human neural progenitor cells (hNPCs) and human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSCs). These cells are cultivated as free-floating or plated and adherent 3D spheres as well as 2D monolayer cultures. Our cell models can be used to study several key neurodevelopmental and neuronal processes.

We offer services in the following fields:
Developmental Neurotoxicity (DNT) Testing
Adult Neurotoxicity (ANT) Testing
Computational Biology and Bioinformatics
In Vitro Method Development
