BIO Deutschland is the German biotechnology sector association and works closely with other biotech organizations in Europe and the USA. BIO Deutschland lobbies for improvements to the legal parameters for innovative small and medium-sized enterprises. The Berlin-based association with more than 300 members is also very active in a broad range of events with the aim of providing biotechnology with a platform for discussion and interaction. It is run by a board of ten members consisting of CEOs and managing directors of biotechnology companies, as well as directors of Bioregions. The member companies and their experts are organized in working groups: finance and taxation; diagnostics; licences and technical contracts; regulatory affairs; innovation and entrepreneurship; HR; German-US cooperation; health policy; technology transfer; industrial bioeconomy, communication and PR and Bio-IT and Big Data.
